This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to elinzanetant, or if you are pregnant.How to Use This Medicine:
Capsule
- Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use. Do not use more than directed. Take this medicine at the same time each day at bedtime.
- Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not cut, crush, or chew it.
- Read and follow the patient instructions that come with this medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
- Missed dose: If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.
- Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. For patients taking 1 capsule once a day: Partially peel back the foil covering of the blister card to expose only one of the two capsules. Leave the remaining capsule in the blister card until the next dose.
Drugs and Foods to Avoid:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
- Some medicine can affect how elinzanetant works. Tell your doctor if you are using carbamazepine, cimetidine, erythromycin, itraconazole, or midazolam.
- Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you are using this medicine.
Warnings While Using This Medicine:
- It is unlikely that a postmenopausal woman may become pregnant. But you should know that using this medicine while you are pregnant may cause loss of pregnancy or stillbirth. If you can get pregnant, your doctor may do tests to make sure you are not pregnant before starting treatment. Use an effective form of birth control during treatment and for 2 weeks after the last dose. If you think you have become pregnant, tell your doctor right away.
- Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, or history of seizures.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:
- Liver problems
- Seizures
- This medicine may make you dizzy, drowsy, feeling faint, or spinning feeling. Do not drive or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you.
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
Possible Side Effects While Using This Medicine:
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Dark urine or pale stools, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, yellow skin or eyes
- Dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness
- Headache
- Seizures
If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
- Diarrhea
- Muscle spasms
